IBM, Blackboard sign a strategic partnership: IBM will host worldwide data centres for Blackboard, and bring cutting-edge “Watson” cognitive computing to the Learning Management System to support learners and teachers.

IBM’s Watson, cutting-edge artificial intelligence software, has already passed the Turing Test when used to power an automated TA for a course at Georgia Tech. Now IBM and Blackboard plan to apply the cognitive computing technology to enhance the supports for students and teachers in the LMS. AI retention coming soon!
