Guild Deliverability Issues

If you are a Guild member and have been missing some or all emails regarding the group, the cause is almost always your local or institutional spam filters.  You may need to “whitelist” the servers we use for several different services, to ensure you stay in the loop:


Periodically we survey members regarding meeting timing, topics, live events and more using SurveyMonkey. If you have not been receiving survey invitation emails, you may need to whitelist their mail servers. Detailed information here


We use Freshbooks, one of Canada’s most trusted accounting platforms, to manage membership renewal invoices. In general, if these emails do not reach you, the past due invoice will be flagged in our accounting system so you will hear from us directly – but to ensure you renew in a timely fashion, please whitelist


The emails you receive from Guild organizers or members on a daily basis will come from the email address. Normally, whitelisting this address (or the domain) should be sufficient, but if you are still encountering deliverability issues, you should also whitelist (Gaggle is the cloud platform that Eduvation uses to manage the membership listserv).


Local Whitelisting

Start by checking the “spam” or “junk” folder in your email program, on your phone, laptop or desktop. If you find the missing emails there, the issue is your own local spam settings and you should be able to whitelist our servers yourself, by adding the email address in question to your contacts as follows:

Outlook: Click “junk email options” under “delete”, click “safe senders” and “add” the email address. Click the “settings” icon, then “more mail settings,” “safe and blocked senders,” then add the domain to the list of “safe senders” and “safe mailing lists.”

iOS: Press and hold the email address and select “add to contacts” or “create new contact”

Gmail: Go to and click “add contact” at the bottom right of the screen, or click on the “settings” icon, then “filters,” and then create a new filter to “never send to spam” emails from the email address.

Android: Open the Contacts app, tap “add new contact,” and enter the email address.

MacOS: In the Mail app, select Mail\Preferences, and add a “rule” to move messages from the email address to mailbox “inbox”.


Institutional Whitelisting

On the other hand, if you do not find any of the missing emails in your own spam folders, then the issue is more likely campus-wide at your institution, and you will need to contact your ITS department for assistance whitelisting the servers in question. If ITS cannot resolve the issue quickly, we could consider using your personal email address (such as Gmail) to ensure deliverability in the meantime.
